IRIS Chrome Extension Support

IRIS is an AI writing tutor for students in IRIS classes. It works as a Chrome side panel beside Google Docs.

Getting started

  1. Install IRIS from the Chrome Web Store.
  2. Ask your instructor to enroll your Google account in an IRIS class and share your assignment Doc.
  3. Open that Google Doc and open the IRIS side panel.
  4. Sign in with Google when prompted, then work through feedback threads.

Common messages

  • Open a Google Doc — IRIS only runs on Google Docs pages.
  • Document isn’t part of an IRIS assignment — Open the Doc your instructor linked to IRIS.
  • You’re not enrolled — Ask your instructor to add your school Google email to the class roster.
  • Waiting for feedback — Your Doc is linked; feedback has not been published yet.
